Hi guys! Welcome to the first post for 2016! Yes, we know, it has been a while. The shaadi season just caught us in a whirlwind of clothes, makeup and salon appointments. But we are back with our December favorites. So, lez do this, shall we?
Atiya: I was crazy about my nude polishes this month. If you remember our haul from the beginning of December, I bought this Haute nail polish in Teddy Bear and no joke, y’all I wore it for two weeks straight. I am a huge fan of Color Studio nail polishes for their variety of finishes, longevity and pricing and this did not disappoint. The color remained shiny and chip-free for almost six days and I hadn’t even brought out the big guns in the form of the Seche Vite top coat. This nail polish is a keeper.
My purple addiction strengthens with every passing day. I tried out the Ofra Liquid Lipstick in New Orleans and while, I think the packaging in no way justifies the Rs. 1900 I paid for it, the product is pretty good. I wore it for a friend’s nikkah and the color did not budge for almost seven hours. I barely needed a touch up. It is drying and applies patchy so that doesn’t make the product favorite worthy BUT for the color, I am willing to call it a favorite.
I couldn’t find my DMGM Extreme Matte Chubby Stick in Cayenne Pepper (seriously need to find it) hence it is not pictured here but i reached for that a lot when I wasn’t feeling like royalty with the purple passion. The color is very orange-orange on me instead of the red-orange I thought it was but it is so amazing; bright, matte and long-lasting.
Amna: Wedding season means lots and lots of dressing up opportunities. I found myself using the Naked 2 Palette for all my looks and I am super obsessed with my Ardell Natural lashes I purchased last month (see full haul here).
This Golden Rose Color Expert Nail Polish is the perfect color for making your hands look freshly manicured. Its quite opaque and compliments tan skin.
Atiya: I read Kitchens of the Great Midwest in pretty much a binge over two days. I LOVED it. It is about a woman named Eva, whose love for food is the ruling passion of her life. She soon rises among the ranks of the food world to become a mysterious, mythical chef whose ‘pop-up’ dinner parties are the stuff of legend. There is a wait-list five years long and people are willing to pay $10,000 for her delicacies. Peppered in her life is a cast of characters, each influential in their own way from the high-school boyfriend to her sweet mild-mannered father. A charming ode to food and love, Kitchens of the Great Midwest had me grinning from cover to cover. Oh, and it has recipes, so you can bet I will be trying one soon.
Amna: I’ve listening to these songs on repeat this month. I’m a music junkie so please do recommend your favorite songs in the comments.
1. Omen by Disclosure ft. Sam Smith
2. Firestone by Kygo ft. Conrad
3. Light by Odesza ft. Little Dragon
So that is it for our December favorites. Hope you are having an awesome start to the new year!
