Ok, could not have been more late with this March Favorites post but here we are making amends and trying to blog regularly. We have some exciting posts coming up so please stay tuned. And now, on with the favorites!
Amna: I’ve been using the Revitalash, The Body Shop Aloe Smoothing Night cream and the Eveline 7 essentials oil as part of my daily might routine. I’ve used Revitalash for over two weeks and Im seeing a difference already. Its not supposed to grow lashes, rather its helps condition and makes them appear fuller. Kind of like when you oil your hair and they start appearing healthier and fuller.
The Body Shop Night Cream is so fricking good!. It smoothed my skin out and locks in hydration all night. I use the Eveline oil as part of my after shower skin care and also to put in my cuticles. If you have dry patchy discolored skin, this is for you.
Atiya: It is that time of year when I simply cannot get enough of my corals and oranges. I never mix my lipsticks but the combination of the Wet ‘n’ Wild Megalast Lipstick in Coraline, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Unapologetic and the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids in Shocking Coral has been the best mix ever to get that coral with the perfect balance of red, orange and pink.
Been reaching for the Sleek blush in Aruba as well. I had forgotten this even existed in my stash and I kinda dipped my brush in too much and before you know it I had very bright orange circles on my cheeks. These blushes are amazing but lesson duly learnt about keeping a light hand with them.
Amna: I got this pineapple print snap back from Ali Express because why not? Goes with my skater vibe.
Atiya: I am like, next level obsessed with Khaadi’s accessories and I have been eyeing this necklace for an age! Rs 1900 is a tad bit high for such a piece so when it went on 50% off I pounced on it. I mean let’s be honest, I paid the real price for it anyway. I have been wearing it with my kurtas and working my inner boho goddess.
I read only one book in March but it was so amazing I just couldn’t even. It is called My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante, book one of the four part Neopolitan Novels series. The story is about two women, Lila and Elena and the novels’ time spans across 60 years covering a period from childhood to old age. The first novel is about Lila and Elena’s school years, how they grew up in a small town in Naples. Elena is our narrator and through we see the love and admiration she has for Lila but these feelings are also tinged with jealousy and contempt for how clever Lila without even trying. The story is very provincially and simply told but there is something so beautiful about becoming teenagers and all the insecurities of youth that Ferrante captures. I honestly felt that the novel articulated every insecure feeling I had for my best friend when I was 13 years old. Highly recommended.
Amna: I’m finally catching up on House of Cards. I love the power play in this show and the drama is so thrilling.
This month’s playlist includes the vocal stylings of Ariana Grande (duh!) and Zayn Malik.
