My Hair Routine

Hello everyone, Amna here, hope you are all having a fabulous Sunday. Today I would like to share with you the products I use to wash, care and primp my hair.

I have fine wavy hair, which is quite manageable but I live in a very humid climate so it tends to frizz up a lot. My routine is very simple as I do not like to load up my hair with product because it tends to weigh my fine hair down.

I start my routine by washing my hair.

Washing: I use the Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo which has coconut oil in it. It smells amazing and leaves my hair soft and tangle free. I use the Dove Damage Therapy Conditioner on alternate days instead of every shower. This way I don’t over wash my hair and there is less breakage. After I get out of the shower, I comb my hair with a wide toothed comb so it drys without any tangles and it becomes easier to style after wards.

Then I like to let it air dry. My hair drys naturally into waves, so the next step is primping those waves.

Refresh: I like to use the Suave Keratin Infusion Smooth and Shine serum on the ends of my hair which makes my hair look like a mil. I am not kidding.

Often if I have to go out and my roots feel a bit greasy, I blast my roots with Batiste Dry Shampoo to give my flat hair a lift.

Styling: I live in very hot and humid climate so instead of using product I tackle the frizz by styling it in such a way that it looks ok it does become a mess. I let my hair air dry most of the time and pull a few strands from my face towards the back and pin them. This is my everyday style.

Now for the caring part.

Hair care: Heat styling can do quite some damage overtime. For the past four years in college I straightened my hair after every wash which fried my hair to a crisp. I only recently broke this habit and started wearing my hair naturally. I treat the Sunsilk Progressive Damage Reconstruction Hair oil into my scalp till the ends of my hair twice a week and keep it in overnight. Oiling is the best cure for long term damage as it restores and builds the hair shafts back up.

The Matrix Biolage Deep Smoothing serum is great for applying on damp hair and blow drying. As for straightening, I do it only if need to but I don’t skip out on heat protectant. I use Loreal Studio Hot Straight (not pictured).

That is it for my hair routine, I hope you found this post informative and if you like to see Atiya’s curly hair routine, leave a comment below. Have a great day.
