Happy Independence Day, y’all. Hope you are having a fabulous day in your PJs and enjoying the long weekend. Amna and I were brainstorming for what to post today and we thought why not shop our stash and find dupes for high-end products that are also easily available? There are some great dupes here so let’s jump right in.
A little note: We tried our best to match the undertone and textures of the products. While there might be a slight difference between a warm or a cool tone, we feel that these dupes are even better then their high end counterparts
Elf counturing blush and bronzing powder VS The Balm’s Bahama Mama
Remember when this palette was THE dupe for NARS’ Orgasm blush and Laguna bronzer? I always thought that was a bit of a stretch anyway but we found that this bronzer holds up really well to the Bahama Mama. The texture is soft and smooth and upon blending, you can’t tell the difference. You can get the ELF palette on their website for Rs. 899 while the Bahama Mama is available at Scentsation for approximately Rs. 3000.
Luscious Cosmetics’ Signature Lipstick in Raspberry VS MACs Girl About Town
Luscious Cosmetics has always claimed that their Signature Lipstick in Raspberry is a dupe for MACs Girl About Town and we decided to put that claim to the test. For replicating GATs sheer finish and color, Luscious Cosmetics wins hands down. Honestly, Raspberry has better staying power and at Rs. 895 it shows MAC who is the real Girl About Town.
DMGM Xtreme Matte Chubby Stick in Cayenne Pepper VS MACs Lady Danger
I have always been a firm advocate of these lip crayons by DMGM. SO SEVERELY UNDERRATED it’s not even funny. Lady Danger has more red in it but on application both are exactly the same on me. The DMGM lip crayon matches the matte texture and the staying power of Lady Danger to a T and at Rs. 1000 it is a steal compared to the Rs. 2800 for the MAC.
Essence Longlasting Lipstick in Come Naturally vs Lime Crime Velevetine in Cashmere
I know, I know these two are nothing alike but hear us out. Lime Crime Velvetines are a velvet satin finish and perfect for mixing with other colors. The Essence lipstick captures that finish and the cool taupey undertone of the Lime Crime and is perfect for mixing! So that makes it a great dupe. You can find Essence at most department stores while Lime Crime is sold via Facebook pages.
Color Studio Professional Nail polishes VS OPI
I will inshallah do a post on how much I love Color Studio Professional nail polishes but for now, the biggest reason is that some of their colors are amazing dupes for OPI polishes. I am looking at my nails right now and I cannot tell which is which. The Haute nail polish in Hoyden is a perfect dupe of OPIs Cajun Shrimp (my first OPI polish and one I love to this day). In the second picture, you can barely tell the difference between Haute’s Latte and OPIs Dulce de Leche. I believe CSP polishes have a different packaging now and priced at Rs. 300 instead of Rs. 225 (seriously, WHY?) while OPI is Rs. 990 online and in stores. I have seen these Haute polishes at Naheed so get them while you can.
Did you like? What other products should we dupe? Let us know!
